Has anyone ever seen a lawn that has uneven trimming result or even patches here and there? It’s because the lawn mower isn’t very good enough. It may be stuck sometimes, which creates the patches. That’s why, choosing the right lawn mower is important, especially if people want to actually enjoy the mowing activity. They may have to spend more money to find the right device, but having good lawn mower is always good investment since good mower can last for long period of time. One of the most reliable lawn mower available in the market is the Black & Decker SPCM1936 19-Inch 36-Volt Cordless Electric Self-Propelled Lawn Mower with Removable Battery.

Black & Decker SPCM1936 Review

People always want to have the best. They want to be satisfied with the things they’ve purchased, especially when it’s quite costly. They won’t be disappointed with this device. First of all, it’s noiseless. Forget about being worried that they will disturb the neighbors because they won’t even disturb their own ears. This mower is very quiet and smooth. People might even enjoy cutting the lawn now. In the past, they might need to rush because they wanted everything to finish instantly and to get rid of the disturbing noise. They won’t need to do that anymore.

Another great thing about the device is that it doesn’t produce any gas emission since it’s running on electricity. People won’t need to inhale any harmful and disturbing smoke emission anymore. The battery capacity is also enough to cut about 1/3 acres of land with a single charge. It means that the battery is quite efficient on the power and it’s very effective. If people have another additional battery, it will be better. But if they don’t have it, it’s not a really big deal.

People are given the choices to use rear mulch bag or rear discharge for the cutting waste. The rear discharge is quite neat and great. It creates fertilizer effect that won’t cause any hassle or clutter for the lawn. They can switch the feature with a push of a button if they want to have easier waste collection. When they use the rear mulch bag, they can gather all the lawn waste and then dump the content easily.

A lot of people give good opinion and review about the lawn mower. According to them, the device is great and easy to operate. It can also be folded to provide better storing system. However, some of them dislike the weight. For them, this device is quite heavy. They also dislike the length because it makes them unable to turn swiftly and quickly. Some of them dislike the fact that the device is made of plastic, although it’s beneficial for people living in humid area. In short, the device may have several disadvantages but the overall performance is great and satisfying. For them, having the device is a worth investment.

Great battery operated mower for a smaller yard
We have had this mower a few weeks, and have mowed our yard 3 times. It is great! The yard is about 1/3 acre and the battery has lasted to mow both front and back yard, which takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. We have had extremely heavy rain, and the grass has been thick and tall, and slightly wet. We mowed at the highest setting and went slowly over the very thick areas and it could handle it. So far, we haven't used the self propel feature very much, since it doesn't seem to mulch as well when going so fast. We love the fact that it is quiet enough to talk to someone without turning it off. And the weight of it is OK to push without using the self propel, although this is my teenage sons doing the mowing! It seems to mulch very well, without any noticeable clumps of grass remaining, but just very small clippings that easily settle back into the grass. We have not tried bagging the grass since it mulches so well, I can't see why we would want to bag. The handle easily folds back over it, to take up very little garage storage space. We got the 3 year warranty in case of problems. But honestly, if this only lasts 3 years, it's worth it for not having to get gas for it! I'm thrilled with this mower so far! LOVE downsizing from a huge yard that required a riding mower, to a smaller yard with this superb eco-friendly mower!Cottagegardenlover
Black and Decker 36V Cordless Self Propelled Mower
My husband opened his new toy and could not wait to go out and cut the grass. He left the reading of the directions to me! He came back in the house shortly thereafter very disgusted and said it just skims over the grass, doesn't cut, I can't adjust the blade, etc. I told him to read the book. So about a week later, after reading the book, he tries again. This time I went outside with him. Before he started it, I told him he needed to push the button while he was pulling on the bar and he said, Oh, what button?? I showed him and voila..... he was off and running. That first time, he never pushed the button on the side. MEN!! His only complaint now is he has it on the slowest speed and it still goes too fast. LOL Poor thing, he has Neuropathy and can't walk very fast. Now he loves the lawn mower. We have a fairly large side yard, it's a corner property and so he did the front and sides in one day and then came back and did the backyard another. Great lawnmower and so nice to not have to drag around an electric cord or buy and store gas. At 74 if he's going to do the lawn it has to be easy and this makes the chore easy. Clean up is a breeze! We put Pam on the bottom.digitalbarn
Mows like a ninja! Silent and quick
Mower was a little expensive for an electric, but it does everything that you would want. Mulches well, discharge too. Height is really easy to adjust with one lever. Start is easy too, and it is easy to learn. Battery is easy to pullout to charge in the house or wherever you need.
Cons: a bit heavy to maneuver without the self propell. Backwards is an issue with the mulch flap that flips up. I can't quite see where the blade line is when cutting but that may be experience.

Overall the easy of use far outweighs my conventional mower. I charged it once and have mowed 3 times. They do recommend keeping it charged, but I forgot and it's been fine.
Love not needing ear protection and that there are no issues starting or stopping.Weepu
Love it!
Being 67 I found trying to start my conventional mower with the pull cord was getting next to impossible so I went looking for a mower that would be easier to start and i didn't want to worry about dragging a cord all over the yard. This mower works great! Push button start and has plenty of power and battery charge to mow my front and back yards easily. I was pleasantly surprised when I accidentally mowed the first time on "mulch" and found it did such a good job, I'm no longer using the bag at all and using mulch mode all the time
. It does take a while to get used to the power of the "self-propelled" feature when making turns and learn how to pause that drive while turning but easily mastered. Perfect mower for my needs.weeljo
Just what I needed!
After researching electric lawnmowers I decided I wanted a cordless model. This mower does not disappoint! Very easy to adjust the deck height with just one hand. I am 5'1" and I can easily keep up with this mower on the lowest setting. I haven't needed to go any faster than that. It seems to hold a charge very well. I only have a regular size city corner lot and this mower works perfectly for this size yard. I have not tried bagging my grass and don't know if I will since the mulch feature works so well. I feel really good about my purchase and would recommend this mower to others.Pitterpat0

The mower does a super job on my small lot. The slowest self-propelled speed is plenty fast for me, a 50 something couch potato. The battery power was more than enough to do the entire yard. I would recommend this to anyone who has a small yard and doesnt want to push or fool around with gas.Cindymusic
No over exertion
This is a great machine if you cannot over exert due to a medical condition. It allows you to take breaks because it needs recharging. This machine is made for a small yard. The self-propelled feature is wonderful but it sucks up most of your power. It is not for people on the go and in a hurry to get the yard done. It's ideal for us retired folks who have time to sit, rest and wait for it to recharge. I'm not exhausted at the end of yard work with this machine as I was with the "pull the string" gas mower. I recommend it for us older folks.elithecat
Perfect for residential lawns
I've used the Black and Decker 24V push mower for the last 5 Years and was able to mow front & back yards about 3 times on a full charge. Now that I'm older (67) and get a stiff back pushing the mower, I gave it (still works great) to my stepson and bought the 36V self propelled. After mowing both yards it is down to less than half charge; I suppose because it uses more energy being self propelled. That's about half the cutting capacity of the old mower, but the SP model works great! The cut is smooth & effortless, and I find that the slowest speed is fast enough for me (again, I'm older...). The controls are easy to use, the mower is pretty quiet, and it completely meets my needs. Charging time is several hours, so it might not be suitable for LARGE lawns, but it is excellent for the average home with front & back yards.
I would definitely buy this mower.OldFolksAreUs
moves a little too fast when engaging self propel
It's quiet and seems sturdy enough. I bought an extra battery, but for what the battery costs, you might want to consider buying the Rototiller which uses the same battery.

I used this on some tall grass on a very hilly 1/2 acre yard. It did ok, but on the sections where it lost traction, it would stop and you would have to re-engage the drive mechanism. The bagging was also so-so. My guess is that this mower works a lot better on a yard whose grass is not overgrown.

If you are using the self propelled feature and you disengage it, you will have to manually push the mower forward before you can back it up. If you try to just back it up, it will still be engaged in the forward gearing mechanism (guessing here).

The batteries charge fairly quickly. Like most of the other reviewers have stated, it's a good mower for a small yard that doesn't have really tall grass.

I like it. I was getting about 15-20 min per battery if I only used the self-propelled feature on the uphill portions of my yard. These batteries are lead acid and not Lithium-ion, so they don't charge as quickly or last as long as those types of batteries. Still, most of the reviews of this mower, have it as the best self propelled rechargeable cordless that you can buy right now.budokaiboy
Had to return
Can not give rating as the lawn mower was damaged in shipping and had to return. Was my main purpose of ordering online and ship to home so that I wouldn't have to get someone else to haul from or to store. Would try again but have had problems with FedX delivery before. Only recommend because of other reviews.Lou4494
