String Trimmer done right
I've used gas powered and plugin string trimmers, and they're heavy, awkward, uncomfortable, and changing the string is a hassle. The Greenworks is light, uses a 40v battery (that also works in our mower and row tiller), powerful, and has a quick change hub for the string. I'd recommend it heartily.John
Greenworks is awesome
I already have a Greenworks cordless mower and bought this trimmer which runs off the second mower battery. The trimmer was easy to put together, and I was trimming in minutes. The wheeled edger feature is very well thought out and works well.
I have nothing but good things to say about Greenworks- great products and the best customer service anywhere.
I like Walmart as a vendor, too. Delivery to my door, much better than having to go spend money on gas and trying to find something in person. (I actually did that and the big box hardware store didn't have it, didn't offer to get it, a waste of gas and time).Lucille44
Good trimmer
Used for over an hour of heavy trimming next to woods and worked well. Like that I can use same battery as my pole saw. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]JAMES F
Greenworks Trimmer
I recently gave my old trimmer to my daughter and decided to purchase a Greenworks trimmer since i already had a Greenworks hedge trimmer with a 40v battery and liked the quality of the product. The string trimmer was not disappointing and works very well. My only complaint is the weight. It is similar to the old gasoline powered trimmers I used to use. I understand the heft because of the powerful motor and large battery. It will run about 30 minutes per charge which is sufficient to complete the trimming work i do on my property.Blackbear86
Great tool
I bought this trimmer after I had purchased the lawn mower. The batteries are interchangeable. Big reason for the purchase.BeJosh
Battery operated Greenworks tools
I have purchased three products that are the 40 volt from Greenworks and not one of them use the same battery or charger and you have to buy three charges and three different model number batteries. I thought I would have backup batteries for the tools, but not with out buying additional batteries at over $80 to $100.00 each. chainsaw, string trimmer and a hedge trimmerTimberidge
Works good
Am happy with this weed eater but wish the string was a bit heavier. It does the job indeed it to do.Sam
Battery doesn't come with it
I guess I didn't know what "Tool Only" meant - this doesn't come with a battery.
I bought a black and decker brand at Home Depot for this same price and it came with a battery.
The battery for this is half the cost of the machine...I took it back to walmart .
It just doesn't make sense to sell things like this in separate parts.TXgmaof2boys
greenworks weed trimmer 40v
received the machine & to my dismay, NO BATTERY-NO CHARGER !!!!! Was not made clear these items were not included. How is someone supposed to do any work with out these components. Went on line to price the battery & charger, a whopping $150.00 plus------ & that was before the tax. Went to Lowes & picked up 40volt Kobalt for $149.
No battery and no charger not clear on website
Website did make it clear that battery and charger are not included and provided no information about where to get them I returned it because it was useless and certainly not worth the money when a trimmer with a battery and charger is available at the same price. Next time I shall read "what's included" very carefully.blueblosssom
